The 80.000-member Ardbeg Committee recently selected Ardbeg Uigeadail as their prefered Ardbeg. In recognition of its outer silky brightness and complexity on a level that only a small number of distilleries worldwide can even begin to approach, Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible selected Ardbeg Uigeadail “World Whisky of the Year” in 2009.

The unique vatting known as Ardbeg Uigeadail (pronounced OOog-a-dalO) combines the brand’s traditional deep, smoky notes with the luscious, raisin-like undertones of old ex-Sherry casks. Because it is non-chill filtered and strong, the flavour is retained to the fullest extent possible while also adding body and depth.

As The Ultimate Islay Malt, Ardbeg is highly regarded throughout the whisky community. Of all the Islay malts, Ardbeg is the peatiest, smokeiest, and most well-balanced. Ardbeg is not a peaty malt that has just one flavour.

nstead, Ardbeg creates a rich flavour by balancing sweetness and smokiness. Of all the smoky malts, Ardbeg’s whisky lineup has received the most awards, with 51 gold, double gold, or best in class medals since 2008.

“The tongue is rich and complex, with flavours like sea salt-sprinkled orange segments, dark chocolate, malt, and sweet peat that is always there.
