Since these casks were filled, no further peated spirit has been made at Lochranza Distillery. Peated spirit production at Lochranza officially came to an end in 2016, with all future peated whisky production for Isle of Arran Distillers moving to their sister distillery, Lagg Distillery, located in the south of the island. From now on, all peated expressions from Isle of Arran Distillers will be released under the Lagg or Machrie Moor names, making the Arran Barrel Bonfire a unique and historic farewell to Arran’s peated whisky era.
