Northland comes from the unhurried way in which the spirit is made, and from the maturation, which takes place in American oak quarter casks. Northland was the distillery’s first release. The Whisky has been aged a minimum of four and a half years in used Islay (ex Laphroaig) quarter cask barrels.
Sweet with notes of fruit and fresh sea breeze, citrus freshness and hints of cereal, and just a trace of peat smoke.
Sweet, nutty tones come to the fore, with hints of grapes and honey. Floral flavors abound, enhanced with just a hint of dried fruit and spice.
