Ingredients: 2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey 1/4 ounce simple syrup (1:1 ratio of water to sugar) 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters Orange peel Ice cubes Instructions: In an old-fashioned glass, muddle the simple syrup and bitters together. You can use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush and mix the ingredients. Add the bourbon or rye whiskey to the glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes and stir gently to combine. Express the oils from the orange peel by holding it over the glass, skin-side down, and gently squeezing it to release the oils. Rub the rim of the glass with the peel and drop it into the drink. Give the drink one final stir. Serve and enjoy your classic Old Fashioned!
