The Kinship Caol Ila 40YO Hunter Laing Single Malt Whisky this Caol Ila has enjoyed quite the maturation, having aged 40 years! The Laing family has been in the Scotch Whisky business for over three generations.The company has acquired a great deal of experience and, just as importantly, vast stocks of some of the most sought-after whiskies in Scotland.It was independently bottled after four decades of rest by Hunter Laing as part of The Kinship range and was released to commemorate the virtual Fèis Ìle 2021.
The 40-year-old whisky was eventually bottled at cask strength, with only 371 limited edition bottles released.Little punchy, very citric, salty, subtle sweetness, little fruity, little smoky, slight vanilla, fruit juice, Darjeeling tea, tobacco, oak spice, little herbs - still good-Medium long, warm, citric, spicy, zesty.
